Louisiana Man Arrested For Riding a Horse Into Bar, Lassoing Customer

Just after midnight Wednesday morning, in Scott, LA, Police were called to Cowboy’s nightclub where a man was riding his horse inside the bar. Scott Police investigators tell NBC33 News 26-year-old James Rene Mouton got really drunk at the bar.

Police say Mouton had his horse in a trailer in the parking lot of the night club. After becoming drunk, police say Mouton unloaded the horse and rode it into Cowboys Nightclub. Mouton then allegedly rode the horse out of the bar and onto North Ambassador Caffery Parkway, just North of Interstate 10.

We’re told Mouton then rode the horse back into the bar. Police say a concerned bar patron escorted Mouton and his horse out of the building. Once outside, Scott Police say Mouton roped a 47-year-old man using a lasso. The man was allegedly dragged through the parking lot by Mouton, the horse, and his lasso.

Police say after the episode, Mouton brought the horse to his parents’ house on Renaud drive then walked back to the bar on foot. Scott Police arrived on scene and say Mouton tried to hide from them. Police were able to wrangle Mouton, and they tell us he threatened to retaliate against them when they were off duty. Mouton is now in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. He’ll be in court to face multiple charges on Friday.

Mouton is facing the following charges: Disturbing the peace, remaining after being forbidden, second degree battery, public intimidation and retaliation.

Pennsylvania Road Crew Paints Yellow Line Over Dead Raccoon

ODD Road Line Over Raccoon

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) — The "squirrelly" configuration of a western Pennsylvania road helped cause a state road crew to paint a double-yellow line over a dead raccoon.

Motorcyclist Sean McAfee snapped a photo of the mistake before it could be cleaned up and submitted it to the Tribune-Democrat of Johnstown (http://bit.ly/MkHa1K).

He says he almost crashed, he was laughing so hard.

PennDOT spokesman John Ambrosini says paint crews usually have a foreman on the job who clears away any dead animals before the paint-spraying truck equipment passes by. This crew didn't have a foreman and the equipment was too big to turn around in traffic, remove the animal and repair the paint. He says the "the squirrelly geometry" of the narrow road didn't help.

But the crew did try to stop the paint gun.

Mom pleads not guilty to allowing daughter in tanning booth

(CNN) -- A New Jersey mother pleaded not guilty Wednesday to child endangerment charges after being accused of illegally allowing her 6-year-old daughter to tan at a salon, according to prosecutors.

Patricia Krentcil, 44, was arrested on April 24 and later released on $25,000 bail following the alleged incident, said Katherine Carter, a spokeswoman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors say Krentcil allowed her daughter inside a stand-up tanning booth at a salon in the northern New Jersey town of Nutley. It's not clear when the incident is alleged to have taken place.

Krentcil's attorney said the charges are unfounded.

Man Admits To Calling 911 Repeatedly Because His ‘Damn F***ing Phone Won’t Work’

YORKVILLE, Ill. (CBS) — A Kendall County man has been fined for making a series of wacky phone calls to 911.

As WBBM Newsradio’s Bernie Tafoya reports, the calls were placed on Nov. 9 of last year, and recently in court, Michael Alan Skopec, 48, admitted to making five phone calls to 911 with the Kendall County Sheriff’s office because he could not figure out his new iPhone.

In the first call, Skopec tells the dispatcher that his iPhone is not working, and says, “This has something to do with Apple. I don’t know.” The dispatcher advises Skopec to contact his phone service provider and not 911.

“Whenever you do that, you’re tying up a phone line,” the dispatcher says.

“I know I’m doing that, but it ain’t my fault,” Skopec replies. “It’s f***ing AT&T’s fault.”

Soon afterward, Skopec calls 911 again and complains, “I can’t use my f***ing phone.”

“Listen here – I can’t get through to my phone unless I dial 911,” he continues. “I’m ready to smash my phone into the concrete wall. Is that OK? Is that OK? No, it’s not OK. What the hell’s wrong with my phone? OK, tell me. On the AT&T iPhone, what the f**k is wrong with it?”

The dispatcher calmly reminds Skopec he is calling 911 and asks if he has an emergency.

“Yes, I do,” he says. “My emergency is my f***ing phone don’t work.”

The dispatcher asks Skopec for his address, and he replies, “One oh blah blah blah blah blah blah. OK, you understand that?”

In the next call, Skopec says, “How ‘bout I smash this phone on the floor. Why can’t I dial the numbers I used to be able to dial?”

When the dispatcher asks for his address, “I’m not dying, don’t worry. Don’t send the police or nothing over here.”

The dispatcher suggests police might be able to help Skopec. He responds, “The problem is this damn f***ing phone don’t work…. Why can’t you direct me to the AT&T people?”

“Unfortunately, we are a 911 dispatch center,” the dispatcher replies. “The best bet is probably either an AT&T store…”

“Well, how about I just blow this phone up!” Skopec says at the call ends.

In the fourth call, the dispatcher asks for Skopec’s address so an officer can come and help.

“That’s a really stupid response, because I’m trying – it says call iPhone enabled,” Skopec said.

“If you give us your address, maybe we can have an officer come out and help you,” the dispatcher says.

Skopec protests that no officer can help him “because they’ll shoot me with a gun.”

“Have you been drinking tonight, sir?” the dispatcher says.

“No, I’m just not very smart,” Skopec replies.

In the last call, the same dispatcher tells Skopec police officer will be coming to his house.

When the officer arrived at his home in the 200 block of Swanson Lane near Bristol, Skopec was arrested and charged with obstructing or resisting a peace officer, after he allegedly refused to comply with the officer’s orders, the Smoking Gun reported.

Kendall County Assistant State’s Attorney Lisa Accardi said Skopec was sentenced to 12 months probation and two days in jail. Additionally, he had to pay $775 in fines and restitution: $138 to the KenCom emergency call center, $244 to the Kendall County sheriff’s office and $15 to the Yorkville Police Department, Accardi said. He will also have to undergo a drug and alcohol screening.

The calls got national recognition when The Smoking Gun website posted audio of the 911 calls and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper put Skopec on his “RidicuList”. Audio of the calls is still available on the Internet.

World's Largest McDonald's Coming To 2012 London Summer Olympics

This summer, McDonald's will open its biggest restaurant ever for six weeks during the 2012 London Olympic games.

And by big, we mean big. The place is 3,000 square-meters large (that's about 32,292 square feet) and about half the length of a football field. It'll be staffed by 2,000 people, who are estimated to serve more than 50,000 Big Macs and 180,000 servings of French fries. There'll be seating for 1,500 at a time.

For the ninth year in a row, McDonald's is a top-tier sponsor at the Olympics and will be the only branded food in the Olympic Park and Athlete's Village.

This time around, the fast food giant has some high-minded goals to go with the project. The expansive restaurant will be built from recyclable materials, and, since it's inspired by an athletic event, will incorporate a large-scale promotion aimed at making children healthier.

Happy Birthday, Apple II

The Apple II personal computer is 35 years old today, a bit of news that I’m sure is either making you feel wildly old or gives you an odd rush of steampunk retro-nostalgia. The computer, launched on April 16 and 17th at the 1977 West Coast Computer Faire, went on to become the definitive machine for primary and high schools everywhere and whose wonky screen and clacky keys brought millions of kids and adults into the information age.

Steve Jobs was 22 when he and Steve Wozniak launched the II. The device, with its eight expansion slots and rapid upgrade cycle, defined the computer as a platform rather than a one-time purchase. You could improve this thing, although I’ve rarely seen any models that were truly tricked out. As Harry McCracken notes, the Apple II and its progeny existed well into the 1990s as a computing solution for many customers.

If You Have Ever Gotten Your Cell Phone Wet and It Died... Watch This!!!

THIS IS AMAZING!!!

There are few things more frustrating than losing your cellphone to water damage. The electronics are not designed for contact with water, so if your hand-held device slips from your grasp and lands in the toilet, the chances are it's gone forever. At least that used to be the case. A California company has come up with a nano-coating it says will protect your phone from water damage.

Iowa woman births 14-pound baby without painkillers

asher stweardson, fat baby, iowa baby, 14 pounds

(CBS/AP) Kendall Stewardson gave birth to a baby boy, Asher, last Thursday without any surgery or pain medication. An impressive feat considering Asher entered the world at 13 pounds and 13 ounces.

Asher was born Thursday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, measuring 23 1/2 inches long. Fifteen months ago, his "big" brother, Judah, arrived weighing 12 pounds and an ounce at birth.

Mercy officials say only a tenth of 1 percent of all newborns weigh more than 11 pounds at birth.

Kendall endured six hours of labor without an epidural injection. She says she and her husband, Joshua, wanted to avoid cesarean delivery because that wouldn't have been good for her or Asher.

Asher's a bit of a lightweight compared to another big baby who made headlines, JaMichael Brown, who weighed 16 pounds and one ounce at birth, HealthPop reported.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the biggest newborn baby ever was born to Anna Bates of Canada in 1879, who weighed a whopping 23 pounds, 12 ounces, but died 11 hours later.

Pregnant Woman Gives Birth While On The Road!

WAXAHACHIE (Wfaa News) - A dad-to-be in Waxahachie, Texas kept one hand on the steering wheel and one on the video camera. All while his wife was giving birth. But it gets better: The baby was born in the car as it sped down the highway!

Life's journey is full of surprises, few bigger than little Willow's arrival. Not in a hospital, but on the highway with every intimate detail captured on camera.

"I didn't expect it at all. It was different," says new mother, Jennifer Russell.

The couple was racing down a lonely stretch of Highway 287 to a birthing center when little Willow arrived, almost effortlessly, just 15 minutes into a 45 minute drive.

"By the time my water broke, I pushed once and she was out. I felt pretty good and I didn't think it would happen that fast," says Jennifer.

Her husband, to his credit, was determined to capture their special moment. He kept one hand on the wheel and the other holding a camera.

"I just kept making sure the frame was good and that I was staying on the road. I'm surprised I did real well," said father, Zachary Russell.

His wife, a Mansfield elementary teacher, even unwrapped the umbilical chord from around little Willow's neck.

"I just had the baby in the car," said Jennifer.

"I went into shock immediately, of course, and called my sister, because, I said, 'I need you,'" said Nancy Moser, Willow's Grandmother.

The couple has now posted the video online, proud they can always treasure that moment and that Ford compact where Willow's life started.

"It has to be her first car, so that she can tell everyone. "Okay, I was born right there!"

Trust Me This is really incredible!

It is truly amazing that someone could not only create this, but make it change when you move your mouse/cursor.

It's real computer technology and, if you like, you can just sit back and let it change by itself
