ABBA Announces New Music!

The Swedish pop group announced Friday on its official Instagram account that an earlier announced avatar plan of the band, dubbed "Abbatars," helped rekindle the magic.

"The decision to go ahead with the exciting ABBA avatar tour project had an unexpected consequence," the statement posted on Instagram says. "We all felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and go into the recording studio. So we did."

The return to the studio resulted in two new songs, one of which, "I Still Have Faith in You," will be featured in a TV special set to air in December on NBC and the BBC.

Fans have long rallied for the band -- whose hits such as "Take a Chance on Me," "Dancing Queen" and "Voulez-Vous" remain popular -- to perform together again.

The group, made up of members Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, disbanded in 1982.

Madonna's 'Rebel Heart' Hacker Sentenced to 14 Months In Prison!

Israeli court on Thursday jailed a man for 14 months for breaking in to computers, stealing and selling new songs by pop icon Madonna.

Adi Lederman confessed as part of a plea bargain to “hacking in to a number of computers working with Madonna, and selling the musical files of Madonna he copied from those computers to two buyers,” the justice ministry said.

A copy of the ruling by the Tel Aviv magistrate’s court said Lederman had stolen demos of Madonna’s unreleased album “Rebel Heart,” and sold copies to two different people for $300 each.

Adi Lederman
Lederman, a Tel Aviv resident born in 1976, had no criminal record or formal computer training.

He once participated as a singer in a local televised talent show, and his performance was panned by the judges.

Lederman was arrested in January on suspicion of stealing songs from Madonna as well as other international artists, after an investigation carried out in collaboration with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation

In December, the American star released six songs from “Rebel Heart” months ahead of schedule after early versions appeared online. She called that “artistic rape” and that the leaked tracks were not her final versions.

Internet leaks of albums have become increasingly common in an era in which reproducing music files requires little technical skill and pirate websites enjoy an eager listenership.

The court noted the need to lay down a harsh punishment that would deter people from carrying out such crimes.

Singer Johnny Kemp ‘Just Got Paid’ Dies after Fall

Bahamian R&B singer Johnny Kemp, who is best known for the hit song "Just Got Paid," has died in Jamaica. He was 55.

Jamaica police said Friday that Kemp was found floating at a beach in Montego Bay on Thursday morning. It had not yet been determined how he died.

Police said Kemp arrived in Jamaica on a cruise ship but added that they did not have further details.

Reach Media Inc. said Kemp had been scheduled to be on a Caribbean cruise this week, but the U.S.-based parent company of the "Tom Joyner Morning Show" said it did not have further details.

Kemp was nominated in 1989 for a Grammy Award for "Just Got Paid" in a category that included Bobby Brown and Luther Vandross. The song was a No. 1 hit on the U.S. Billboard R&B chart.
