Leon Russell Passes Away at 74
Southern rock legend Leon Russell, famed for his flowing white hair, ever-present hats and unpolished voice, died Sunday morning in his sleep at his Nashville home. He was 74.
Leon Russell wrote one of my very favorite songs of all time - "A Song For You". Please watch a few amazing versions of the song by The Carpenters, Michael Buble, Whitney Houston and others below:

Remembering Karen Carpenter 1950 - 1983
Karen Carpenter Died 32 years ago today in Downey, California after years of suffering from anorexia nervosa.
In 1991, I wrote a fan letter to Richard telling him how much I loved the Carpenters music and was so excited when I received an autographed photo from him in the mail. It was a many years later that I realized Richard got my letter and replied with the signed photo exactly eight years to the day Karen died.
In 2001, I was able to visit the home where she died and was able to place flowers at her grave site.

Elton John Extends "Billboard" AC Chart Record with "Home Again"
With the release of his latest single, Elton John has extended his own record for most songs on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.
“Home Again” has entered the chart at #21. It’s his 69th tune to appear on the tally, five more than Barbra Streisand.
Billboard also notes that “Home Again” is John’s highest-ranking song on the AC chart since 1996′s “You Can Make History (Young Again),” which debuted at #11.
Elton is tied with The Carpenters for the most #1 hits on the AC chart, with 15, and is the sole record holder for most top-10 songs, with 39.
“Home Again” is featured on John’s forthcoming album, The Diving Board, which will be released September 24.

Richard Lynn Carpenter Born October 15, 1946 is an American pop musician, best known as one half of the brother/sister duo The Carpenters, along with his sister Karen Carpenter. He was a producer, arranger, pianist and keyboardist, and occasional lyricist, as well as joining with Karen on harmony vocals.
