Patti LaBelle’s career is taking a Freak-ish turn.
The Grammy winning music legend will appear in four episodes of American Horror Story: Freak Show, playing the mother of Gabourey Sidibe’s character, TVLine has confirmed.
According to an insider, LaBelle’s alter ego — who I’m told does not sing — is a local townsperson who begins to unravel the murderous secrets of Twisty the clown killer.
The latest edition of FX’s anthology hit (premiering this fall) centers on the last freak show in America circa 1952 and stars AHS vets Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett and Frances Conroy. New to the mix are Michael Chiklis, playing a strongman who’s married to Bassett’s character, and guest star Wes Bentley.
