Chris Pine Says "Singing is hard"

Chris Pine doesn't think acting and singing are that different.

The heartthrob star took to the mic for new movie Into the Woods, a Disney adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's classic musical.

The film is slated for a 2015 release, and co-stars Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep amongst others. Chris takes on the role of Cinderella's Prince, and put in a lot of ground work for the singing that was required.

"Oh my god, yeah, I had to. It is quite something when you think you are a good singer - and I patted myself on the shoulder many times before I began thinking, 'You got this down, it's fine' - and then you go in a recording booth and the microphone, just like a camera, will pick up the bullsh*t a mile away," Chris laughed to the British edition of Elle magazine.

While 33-year-old Chris is one of the most famous names in the industry, he relishes the chance to witness someone who's just about to make it big in Hollywood.

One such actor who Chris has always championed is British thespian Benedict Cumberbatch, who he starred alongside in 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness with.

"What to say about Benedict? He's a nice man first and foremost. He's just a lovely guy, he's not arrogant. He has a tremendous work ethic. When the film came out, it [the surge in fame] was just starting for him. It's fun to watch a guy like that go on that ride, where people are loving him. I'm so excited for him and anyone who has worked with would be," he smiled.
