Jody Watley, Performed in the Coca-Cola Superlounge at Essence Fest on Saturday night

After stepping offstage for a costume change she delivered the R&B-flavored pop hits that gave her a No. 1 album, and a Best New Artist Grammy: “Looking For A New Love,” “Some Kind Of Lover,” and “Still A Thrill,” 

She finished with her 1989 number one hit “Real Love”
