World Record Broken This Week in New Orleans - World’s “Largest Human Mattress Domino”
On Tuesday February 28th, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans the first person fell back on their mattress, toppling onto the next. The result: 850 people dropping, one-by-one, until the final mattress landed, shattering the current world record. A Guinness adjudicator was on-site to verify the attempt’s success and present the World Record certificate.
La Quinta Inns & Suites and Simmons Bedding Company will donate the 850 wrapped mattresses used in the record attempt to the Mayor’s Homeless Initiatives and various charities at the conclusion of the event.
850 La Quinta GMs, owners, employees, executives and guests manned one mattress for each La Quinta hotel in the country.

Naked jogger arrested in Slidell, Louisiana
SLIDELL, La. -- A Slidell man has been arrested on accusations of jogging past several young boys while naked, police said.
Drew Rodriquez, 26, was arrested Sunday and charged with two counts of obscenity and one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Police said the first incident happened April 21, when three boys, one 12 and two 13, said they saw a naked man running out of the woods near Independence Road and Robert Boulevard.
The nude man ran from the woods toward the intersection as the boys rode their bicycles, then asked them a question as he ran alongside them. Police said they are not releasing information about what the man asked the boys.
The boys told police they turned into a school parking lot to get away from the man, who followed them into the parking lot, got into a blue Chevy Malibu and drove off.
On Sunday night, two of those same boys said they saw that Malibu leaving a restaurant on Gause Boulevard. They told police that it appeared the driver was naked. They were able to follow the car and get a license plate number.
Officers were on the way to speak with Rodriquez, the registered owner of that car, when a parent called police to report another incident. Two boys, 15 and 13, reported seeing a naked man jog past them as they played basketball in their driveway on Freedom Lane.
Investigators said Rodriquez admitted jogging naked past the boys on both occasions.
