Really Fox News... Really?
Fox News largely ignored the controversy surrounding Josh Duggar following his recent admission that, as a teenager, he molested young girls, including several of his sisters. The revelations are particularly stunning given that, under the guise of protecting children, the Duggar family has played an active role in the fight against LGBT equality.

Ryan Ferguson on His First Year Out of Prison
One year since he was released after serving nearly 10 years in prison for a crime he says he never committed, Ryan Ferguson is doing his best to remain positive.
"I thought when I got out I'd be really happy, you know, I got my freedom back,'' Ferguson told TODAY's Sheinelle Jones on Thursday. "But it's two different worlds, prison and out here, and I've found a lot of struggles."
Since his release, Ferguson has moved from Missouri to Florida to be close with his loved ones and is celebrating the three most important things in his life. Jones asked him if he made a wish on his 30th birthday Oct. 19.
"I have my wish,'' he said. "Family, friends, and freedom. So, the three Fs."
Ferguson's attorney, Kathleen Zellner, has filed a $100 million federal civil rights lawsuit seeking damages against current and former members of the Columbia, Missouri, Police Department and a prosecutor who is now a judge.
While Ferguson now works to raise awareness about his experience with the justice system, the time he spent behind bars is hard to forget. "It really hurts to think about that,'' he said. "You try to avoid it, but it's impossible. I missed out on all my 20s, and there's just no getting away from that."
He also believes his story is just one of thousands involving people who are currently incarcerated because of wrongful convictions.
"I have this opportunity to show people that this isn't just happening to me,'' Ferguson said. "I am not an anomaly. This happens all the time."
Ferguson believes social media, particularly Facebook, played an important role in getting him released from prison by spreading awareness of his conviction. Ironically, he never had never been on Facebook until he was freed from prison.
"It was definitely not the first night I got out,'' he joked.

HIV facts
HIV stands for the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. It is a virus which attacks the body's immune system — the body's defence against diseases.
HIV can be passed on through infected bodily fluids, most commonly via sex without a condom or by sharing infected needles, syringes or other injecting drug equipment.
There are now more people than ever living with HIV in the UK — around 100,000 — with a quarter of those people are unaware they have the virus.

Ryan Ferguson Supporters Hold Benefit in His Honor
Friends, family and supporters of Ryan Ferguson came together at a bar in Columbia to try and raise money for him to get a fresh start in life.
Ryan Ferguson capped off his eighth day of freedom with hugs and cheers from supporters, who held an event called "A New Beginning" in his honor. The goal was to help Ferguson pay for medical expenses and other necessities after his release from prison.
Although some of those present at the NashVegas bar were family members, most were simply supporters who were familiar with his case, which has drawn national attention. Ferguson supporter Kevin Sees said Ferguson has inspired him.
"To be Ryan Ferguson? I can't imagine. The fact that you're wrongfully committed and that someone withheld evidence to get you there is unbelievable." "Anything I've seen of him on TV, he has remained so positive through the whole thing. It's just amazing."

Crowdfunding Campaign to Help Ryan Ferguson Start His New Life
Less than 24 hours after being released from prison, Ryan Ferguson spoke to "CBS This Morning" Wednesday, saying he's looking forward to his new life as a free man.
"It's amazing," he said. "You know, it's quite early in the morning. I haven't really had the opportunity to experience the day yet, but I know as it unfolds there will be new adventures, and it will be incredible, so definitely looking forward to getting into the day."
Ferguson, whose 2005 conviction in the killing of Columbia Daily Tribune sports editor Kent Heitholt was thrown out by an appeals court last week, was released from custody Tuesday night.
His release followed an announcement by the Missouri Attorney General that the office wouldn't re-try the 29-year-old. Ferguson spoke at a press conference hours later, appearing before a throng of media and supporters who clapped and cheered.
Speaking on "CTM," Ferguson said his emotions haven't caught up with him since his release.
When asked what he plans to do now that he's free, Ferguson replied, "I need to get clothes," laughing. "It's really just the basic things...I need to build my life back."

His release came after Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster announced Tuesday that his office will not re-try Ryan Ferguson, 29.
Last week, an appeals court threw out Ferguson's 2005 conviction in the killing of Columbia Daily Tribune sports editor Kent Heitholt. The appeals court ruled that Boone County prosecutors violated federal law by failing to share several pieces of evidence with Ferguson's defense team during his trial, reports the Columbia Daily Tribune.
Ferguson's family, friends and thousands of supporters have always maintained his innocence. Ferguson drove away in a car bearing his picture with his parents, Bill and Leslie, reported "48 Hours" correspondent Erin Moriarty.

Ryan Ferguson to be Released After Appeals Court Overturns Conviction in 2001 Murder!!
An appeals court on Tuesday overturned the conviction against Ryan Ferguson, who is serving a 40-year prison sentence in the 2001 strangulation death of a newspaper editor.
Following a September hearing — one that Ferguson described as “the last real opportunity we have” — a panel of judges has ruled that he didn't get a fair trial. As a result, he must be released if prosecutors don’t file for a retrial within 15 days.
But Ferguson, 29, could be let out even sooner now that his lawyer says she plans to file for a bond motion.
“The ruling is great,” attorney Kathleen Zellner told the Daily News. “We’ve always had a lot of confidence in the court and that it would undo this travesty.”
The Missouri State Attorney General’s office said it will review the court’s decision and consult with Boone County prosecutors about what to do next.
Zellner said she doesn’t expect them to seek a retrial.
“I would find it amazing if they did,” she said. “They have two witnesses who said they lied under oath. After everything we know, it would be a first in American jurisprudence.”
Ferguson has maintained that he’s the victim of overzealous prosecutors, trumped-up charges and courtroom lies.
He was implicated in the crime when his friend, Chuck Erickson, confessed to killing Columbia Daily Tribune sports editor Kent Heitholt with Ferguson during a robbery attempt. Heitholt, 48, was found strangled and lying in a pool of blood beside his car in the newspaper office’s parking lot.
But Erickson, a teenage drug addict, gave conflicting testimony and said in a court deposition years later that he didn’t remember the incident and falsely named Ferguson.
The Missouri Court of Appeals Western District agreed that Ferguson, who was 19 at the time of the crime, didn't have a fighting chance on the stand.
“His verdict is not worthy of judicial or public confidence,” Judge Cynthia Martin wrote in a summary of the ruling, adding that there was “undisclosed evidence” not given to the defense.
According to the ruling, prosecutors withheld an interview with the wife of a witness, janitor Jerry Trump, who claimed he saw Ferguson at the scene. Trump later recanted and could now face perjury charges.
"It is so taxing and exhausting,” he said.
He added that he felt confident after the appeal hearing, and that it was “the first time the judges have acknowledged the facts. They wanted to do the right thing.”
He also said he holds no ill will toward Erickson, who Ferguson claimed was “just a victim.”
“They (prosecutors) got him to say what they wanted him to say,” Ferguson said.
He’s furious that investigators continued to believe Erickson — even though his story didn't seem to add up.
Ferguson’s story has received national attention as the subject of TV news programs. A Change.org petition has gotten more than 265,000 signatures, while a Facebook page was created demanding Ferguson's release.
Before his life changed, Ferguson had planned to pursue a job in real estate just like his father. But he remains locked up in a cell, reliving that night 12 years ago and everything that's happened since.
“We still can’t get the authorities to do the right thing,” Ferguson said. “The people who did this (investigators) ... none of them admitted to any wrongdoing.”

House Explosion Rattles Morning Newscast Anchors
A home located five blocks away from the KIII studio exploded this morning during the Corpus Christi ABC affiliate’s morning newscast, startling anchors Jane Monreal and John Thomasand meteorologist Kristin Diaz.
“The studio had a little bit of a ruckus. We’ll have to see what that’s about. We might be making our own news,” Monreal said immediately afterwards.
At least two people were injured in the explosion, which happened at 5:30 a.m

It seems that Grace and Banfield are sitting in the same parking lot, facing in the same direction, and judging by the speed of the vehicles in their shots, they cannot be sitting more than 30 feet away from each other. Yet, they're behaving as if the are on opposite sides of the world.
