'American Idol' Alum Stefano Langone Signed to Hollywood Records

Has there ever been a season of American Idolthat has resulted in more record deals than Season 10?

Earlier this week, sixth-place finisher Casey Abrams nabbed a deal with Concord Records, becoming the sixth Season 10 alum to score a recording contract. And now, just a few days later, seventh-place finisher Stefano Langone has become the seventh Season 10 alum to get signed. Not too shabby!

Langone, who is being managed by 19 Entertainment, will join Hollywood Records, the same label as acts such as Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and Jesse McCartney. The singer posted this video to his Twitter account to celebrate. (Heads up: it’s a little more lo-fi than Abrams’ music video!)

So to recap: Out of Season 10′s top nine contestants, seven (Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Haley Reinhart, James Durbin, Pia Toscano, Abrams, and Langone) have gotten recording contracts, one (Paul McDonald) is making sweet music with Twilight‘s Nikki Reed, and one (Jacob Lusk) is presumably still forcing his “lusky stank” wherever he’s allowed.

Paul McCartney's MusiCares Tribute Gala Slated For Feb. 10

Paul McCartney will be feted Feb. 10, two nights before this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony, at a star-studded dinner at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The event is held to raise funds and awareness of the Recording Academy’s MusiCares philanthropic wing, which aids musicians in need of emergency financial or medical assistance and help with substance abuse and other issues.

As previously announced, McCartney has been named the 2012 MusicCares Person of the Year by the Recording Academy’s annual honorarium recognizing musicians’ artistic and philanthropic efforts.

The 69-year-old ex-Beatle joins a long roster of honorees that has included Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Brian Wilson, Neil Young, Barbra Streisand and Luciano Pavarotti in the 22 years since the MusiCares Person of the Year event began.
