Loretta Lynn has had to back out of her appearance at the Jamboree in the Hills Festival, which is being held in Ohio starting today through Sunday. Lynn was scheduled to perform on Sunday, July 17, but an illness and hospitalization has rendered her unable to perform. The festival’s website posted the news that Lynn was bowing out, including an apology from the ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’ herself.
“I’m sad to have to cancel any shows — I’ve been looking forward to getting back out there to see all my fans,” Lynn said in a classy, dignified statement.
Lynn is suffering from severe dehydration, which required a hospital stint, thanks to the stiflingly scorching temperatures in Tennessee. Reportedly, the heat index topped out at over 100 degrees this week in many parts of the country, so dehydration and its dangers are no joke and are not to be taken lightly.
The canceled shows will be scheduled whenever and wherever possible. Lynn has a show scheduled for the IP Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi November 4, 2011.
