Hurricane Strength Storms Hit Chicago!!

Thousands of Chicago area residents remain without power Tuesday, a day after a fast-moving storm downed power lines and trees.

More than 850,000 customers lost electricity Monday when the storm hit. ComEd said Tuesday that its crews are working to restore electricity. Many of the crew members have been brought in from outside of the Chicago area to help.  As of about 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a ComEd spokesperson told ABC7 that approximately 307,000 people were still in the dark, with the majority in the northern suburbs, where 174,000 do not have electricity. In the western suburbs, 63,000 people are in the dark. About 47,000 city customers remained without power.
