Chord Overstreet Dedicates a Song to Cory Monteith

While performing at the Roxy Theater in West Hollywood on Saturday afternoon, Glee’s Chord Overstreet dedicated a song to his pal Cory Monteith — exactly a week after his death. RumorFix was there.
The song brought Dianna Agron and Jenna Ushkowitz — who were in the audience — to tears.
Chord said, “I wasn’t going to play this but.. Argh. I recently have been going through a lot of stuff with a losing really, really dear friend of mine, so I want to play this song for him. This is for you Cory.”

So Sad... CORONER: Cory Monteith Died of “Heroin And Alcohol”

Cory Monteith did ultimately lose his battle with the demons that had haunted him for years.

Yesterday's autopsy and toxicity screening showed that the Glee star died of mixed drug toxicity, with heroin and alcohol being among the substances found in his body, the BC Coroners Service announced Tuesday.

Last Known Photograph of Cory Monteith

Cory Monteith dined at a Vancouver restaurant and was photographed during his meal, apparently relaxed and enjoying the company of others, just over 24 hours before he died.

Monteith had dinner at Vancouver’s East of Main Café with Maureen Webb, a British Columbia-based casting agent, and Elena Kirschner, his manager, during which a photo was posted on Twitter showing him in the shadows of the venue.

“Great meal with good friends,” Kirschner wrote as the caption for the photo. The Glee star later re-tweeted the missive and used the image as his post picture on his own Twitter page.

James Lipton Pays Tribute to Cory Monteith

Hollywood lost one of its most promising talents on July 13: Cory Monteith, star of the smash drama Glee, was found dead in a Vancouver, BC hotel room at the age of 31.

James Lipton actually appeared on one episode of the show playing himself. And the Inside the Actors Studio remembers the experience fondly.

"When I appeared as myself on Glee [in 2012], I auditioned Cory's character, Finn, for the Actors Studio Drama School—and rejected him," Lipton says. "That's the way [show creator] Ryan Murphy wrote it. I would have admitted him—in a New York Minute."

The Glee cast also appeared on an episode of Actors Studio and Lipton recalls Monteith's chilling response to the Pearly Gates question.

"Of course you’ll want to know how Cory responded when I asked him the question, 'If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?,'" Lipton recalls. "Cory’s God said, 'Uh, sorry I haven't been around. There’s a good explanation.'"

"I certainly hope there is," Lipton adds. "We needed Cory’s gifts."
