With the campaign heating up, President Obama suggested that he and his family aren't likely to get much of a family vacation this summer.
"Most of it's going to be campaigning," Obama said of his summer plans in an interview with CBS' Charlie Rose that aired this morning
But first lady Michelle Obama says she's got a couple of places she'd like to visit, when they get some free time.
At the top of the first lady's list is New Orleans.
"I've been there several times, but I've never been to the French Quarter," Michelle Obama said. "When we're there, we're usually working. We go in some back way, some freight elevator."
With his daughters, Malia and Sasha, getting older, Obama lamented that he and first lady are learning they have to contend with their increasingly busy schedules as well. Both of his daughters are due to go to sleep-away camp for a month, Obama noted.
"We're going to be, you know, experiencing the first stages of empty nest syndrome," Obama said.
Rose asked him if he was prepared for his daughters spending more time away from them.
Obama responded, "Well, I get a little depressed."
The Obamas, by the way, have taken vacations on Martha's Vineyard the past three summers of his presidency.
