Congratulations To Robin Meade on 15 Years of Hosting Morning Express!!

CNN Headline News hosted by Robin Meade has been through several name changes — it’s now HLN — but with one constant presence: Meade, who hosts “Morning Express with Robin Meade” (5-9 a.m.) and is now TV’s longest-running (national) morning female anchor.
Robin says “I was assigned to the morning show two weeks after Sept. 11 and we went right from the terrorist attacks to understanding what it was to anthrax [attacks] to the war in Afghanistan to the war in Iraq. Sometime before the start of the Afghanistan war, the show got its personality,” says Meade. “When ‘Saturday Night Live’ finally came back on the air and said, ‘Is it OK to laugh?,’ we found our footing — when it’s appropriate to laugh, and when it’s not.

In addition to her TV life, Meade wrote the 2009 bestseller “Morning Sunshine! How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It Too” and has recorded two country music albums, “Brand New Day” and “Count On Me.”

Best New Orleans New Attractions

[From CNN] - Strolling down the streets of New Orleans today, it's hard to imagine that 10 years ago, after Hurricane Katrina came crashing in from the Gulf, much of the city was underwater.

The storm claimed more than a thousand lives and caused damages totaling more than $100 billion.
But New Orleans, like New York City post 9/11, has rallied, and is now experiencing unprecedented growth.

"What happened here is a complicated tale," says Kristian Sonnier, vice president of communications for the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau.

"I lost everything, but I have zero regrets about staying. Because we're not just rebuilding what was lost. We're way past that. We're building a city that we never thought we could have."

The resulting influx of restaurants, bars, shops, hotels, and attractions demonstrates how the Crescent City refused to go down without a fight.

It also means that New Orleans is most definitely back on the destination radar.

Here's a look at some of what's new in New Orleans:
Crescent Park is a 1.4-mile recreational corridor bordering the Mississippi that includes a fenced dog run, picnic areas, and hike and bike trails. It spans from Faubourg Marigny to the trendy Bywater neighborhood, home to an ever-growing number of restaurants, clubs, and shops.
The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery (535 Tchoupitoulas Street), a 167-room retreat outfitted with ceiling fans, hardwood floors, and exposed brick walls.

The sleek new site, dubbed the New Orleans Jazz Market (2020 St. Charles Avenue), is the ideal venue to experience the city's signature sound.

CNN's First Broadcast From June 1, 1980 - 33 Years Ago

CNN celebrated thirty-two years on air on Friday.
America got its first cable news network on June 1, 1980. At the time, CNN was the first television network to air news 24 hours a day. Founder Ted Turner dedicated the channel to the cable industry for its "pioneering sprit," and the American people for their "thirst for understanding."
The network posted its very first news broadcast, which includes Turner's remarks, online last year to commemorate the milestone. The segment opened with a shot of the control room, CNN's logo and a graphic that said "The News Channel." Then, straight onto anchors David Walker and Lois Hart, who read out the news very simply. No music, no graphics, no preamble — not a hologram in sight. But it was something revolutionary all the same.

CNN Anchors Pretend They’re Having A “Satellite Interview” Even Though They’re In The Same Parking Lot.

Watch the cars moving in the background of both shots

Did you see it? Watch the Nissan Xterra from Ashley's side enter on Nancy's

Okay, if you're still not seeing it, look for the moment when the same bus is in both shots

It seems that Grace and Banfield are sitting in the same parking lot, facing in the same direction, and judging by the speed of the vehicles in their shots, they cannot be sitting more than 30 feet away from each other. Yet, they're behaving as if the are on opposite sides of the world.

(CNN) Gay Rights Activists to Hold Kiss Protests at Chick-fil-A Restaurants

(CNN) -- Gay rights activists are planning to hold on Friday a "national same-sex kiss day at Chick-fil-A," the restaurant chain whose president's opposition to same-sex marriage sparked a media frenzy.

"Let's show Chick-fil-A thanks for their support of Love, Equality, and the Real Definition of Marriage!" organizers posted on their Facebook page.

Same-sex couples are expected to arrive at restaurants across the country and kiss in protest, then post video or photos of the event on social media.

But on Wednesday, throngs of others weighed in on the Chick-fil-A debate, buying chicken sandwiches at stores to show their support of the chain.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee dubbed it "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day."

He called for a vocal response to the backlash against the fast food chain and its president and COO, Dan Cathy.
