Joan Rivers welcomed newly single curly-haired actor to her New York Upper East Side neighbourhood with a huge chocolate cake and a sign that shouted: "Welcome Orlando to the hood!"
The E! Fashion Police star also wrote on Twitter: "Excited to welcome Orlando Bloom to my NYC neighbourhood! No cup of sugar - I brought him a full cake."
Though, sadly, 80-year-old Joan's warm welcome didn't actually go exactly to plan. "Orlando wasn't home so I gave the cake to the paparazzi. Best line: "If you can't trust a cake from Joan Rivers, who can you trust?" she later tweeted.
But that didn't stop lovely Orlando from repaying the kind gesture with his own sign and cake. Before his Broadway performance of Romeo and Juliet on Friday night in New York, the 36-year-old was pictured holding up a sign reading: "Thanks for the warm welcome Joan, darling. Come see me on Broadway!"
