At some point, they may want to consider naming the NFC Offensive Player of the Week award the “Drew Brees award.” The New Orleans Saints quarterback earned the honor again this week -- his second this season and his 16th since joining the Saints in 2006.
He’s tied with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for the most weekly awards since '06.
Brees completed 34 of 41 passes for 392 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions in Sunday night’s 49-17 rout of the Dallas Cowboys.
Brees is putting together yet another stellar season, with 3,064 yards, 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He’s on pace for 5,447 yards and 44 touchdowns – both of which would be just shy of his career highs from 2011.
Brees won the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award twice when he was with the San Diego Chargers earlier in his career.
