Some Long Islanders are going to have one unforgettable prom.“Glee” star Darren Criss and former “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks are slated to perform acoustic sets at the prom for East Rockaway High School, which won Rent the Runway’s Dream Prom contest, the fashion website confirmed Monday.Rent the Runway doled out the prize — which includes all costs, including dresses and tuxes, for all students — to a high school devastated by superstorm Sandy.The prom is taking place at Sands Point Preserve.
East Rockaway is my home town but I went to catholic school. This is especially good news for the school as it was so badly damaged by Hurricane Sandy that it still hasn't reopened, although homes and businesses around it have. The students were separated by having to attend various schools in the area.
