On hand to present Anderson Cooper with his GLAAD Media Award, Madonna dressed up as a Boy Scout, in full troop garb from head to toe.
"I wanted to be a Boy Scout, but they wouldn’t let me join," she joked. "I think that’s f---ed up. I can build a fire. I know how to pitch a tent. I have a very good sense of direction. I can rescue kittens from trees. Listen, I wanna do for the community."
It wasn't just an odd speech. The 52-year-old pop queen used the awards show podium to declare her opposition to the Boy Scouts of America's ban on gay scouts and scout leaders.
"I think I should be allowed to be allowed to be a Boy Scout," she said. "And I think they should change their stupid rules."
Madonna also voiced her opinion on other issues, including bullying in schools, in a near 10-minute call for peace and understanding.
"I don't know about you, but I can't take this sh-- anymore," she said. "That is why I want to start a revolution. Are you with me? It's 2013, people. We live in America -- land of the free, home of the brave -- that's a question, not a statement."
Then, as he came on stage to receive the Vito Russo Award, the singer greeted Cooper, who she calls a "gorgeous" freedom fighter with "beautiful blue eyes," with a big kiss.
