Karen Carpenter Died 32 years ago today in Downey, California after years of suffering from anorexia nervosa.
In 1991, I wrote a fan letter to Richard telling him how much I loved the Carpenters music and was so excited when I received an autographed photo from him in the mail. It was a many years later that I realized Richard got my letter and replied with the signed photo exactly eight years to the day Karen died.
In 2001, I was able to visit the home where she died and was able to place flowers at her grave site.
