The Drug Enforcement Agency assisted the New Orleans Police Department in executing a state search warrant involving methamphetamine, said DEA spokesman Terry Davis.

Officials with the New Orleans Fire Department and the State Police's hazardous materials team were also on the scene to search the residence around noon in the 700 block of Dumaine Street near the intersection of Bourbon Street.

Officials had blocked off two blocks of Dumaine Street between Royal and Bourbon streets for at least two hours.
