Robert Pattinson - American Idiot ?
Robert Pattinson could be the next American Idol!

The Twilight star is reportedly set to test his vocal abilities on the big screen when American Idiot, the 2010 stage musical based on Green Day’s Grammy Award-winning album of the same name, is adapted into a film.
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was recently asked who he would like to see in a starring role.
“I’m gonna say that kid in Twilight. He’s a good actor. There’s still more to come with that kid,” he said.
Based on Green Day’s groundbreaking rock opera album American Idiot, the musical is about three suburban pals who take divergent paths in post-9/11 America.

Lea Michele Recalls Encounter With Idol Barbra Streisand

LOS ANGELES—Lea Michele’s Rachel Berry character may have bagged the plum Maria role in her high school’s production of “West Side Story,” but in real life, the “Glee” actress lost in her bid to play Fanny Brice in a Broadway-bound revival of the musical “Funny Girl.”
She would have loved to portray Fanny Brice, Lea told us in a recent interview. “But that’s not what they (the producers) wanted. It will happen though, one day. I will make sure of it and it will be great.”
Lea feels a special affinity to the role since it was first played by her idol, Barbra Streisand in both the original Broadway and movie versions of “Funny Girl.” Crediting Barbra for inspiring her, Lea belted the musical’s best-known song, “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” at the 2010 Tony Awards.
Lauren Ambrose (“Six Feet Under”)— who won the role over Lea and reportedly other actresses such as Kelli O’Hara, Laura Benanti, Leslie Kritzer and Stephanie J. Block—gets to sing the show-stopping number in the “Funny Girl” revival which opens in LA in January and moves to New York in April.
But Lea is buoyed by memories of her encounters with Barbra. It all began when she performed ahead of the legendary singer at the Grammy Awards’ MusiCares gala last February. “I sang ‘My Man.’ I still get the chills when I think about it. At the end of the night, she was being whisked away past me. There were so many people. I was reaching for her but she was gone. I didn’t get to meet her. Everybody was like, ‘Go, run after her.’ I was like, ‘It’s okay.’ When it’s meant to be, it will be.”

A week later, Lea was at the Grammys waiting for her car service at the valet. “Someone tapped me on the shoulder and it was Barbra! She said, ‘Thank you so much for introducing me to your generation.’ I was like, ‘Thank you so much. You’ve changed my life. I love you.’ She walked away and I collapsed, crying like a crazy person.”Lea said, “Barbra tweeted that she was going to send me a Barbra Streisand Barbie Doll. I can’t believe it.”
The Barbra connection got more engaging recently when reports surfaced that Lea received an interesting response when she tweeted, “Currently watching ‘Hoarders’ and this man has a Barbra Streisand Barbie! Where is this man and how can I get my hands on that doll?”
Back to Ryan, Lea said: “He is incredible in allowing us time outside ‘Glee’ to do things that we might be passionate about. I just did my first movie, Garry Marshall’s ‘New Year’s Eve,’ which is coming out in December. I had the best time. I want to do more films for sure when I have the opportunity. I also want to go back to Broadway. But as far as doing more television, I don’t think that will be something I’ll do unless it were some sort of continuation of playing Rachel Berry, because I think she’s the greatest character ever.”
Lea is in good company in “New Year’s Eve,” which boasts of a star-studded cast: Halle Berry, Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert De Niro, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hilary Swank, Zac Efron, Katherine Heigl, Sofia Vergara and more. “I thought that being part of an ensemble would take the pressure off me, like leading a film,” Lea explained why she chose the project.

New Orleans Hyatt rises from Katrina's destruction

Sports fans who swarm the adjacent Superdome and New Orleans Arena still figure in the model — the New Orleans Bowl, Sugar Bowl, BCS college football championship and NCAA men's Final Four basketball championship are set for the Superdome over the next several months.
But the hotel's rebuild also envisions carving a niche in the city's convention business.
Developers say they will target smaller conventions that don't need the space offered at the city's giant riverfront convention center. Such conventions, they and tourism officials say, often go to other cities where the space they need is more readily available.
Poydras Properties Hotel Holdings, which includes a subsidiary of Chicago-based Hyatt Hotels Corp., bought the site in 2007 for $32 million and reconfigured the 32-story building to 1,193 rooms and suites and 200,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

There is little resemblance to the original Hyatt, which opened in 1976, a year after the Superdome.
"The transition is from bricks and mortar to contemporary," Hyatt Regency general manager Michael Smith said. "One of the words we don't use in this transformation is renovation."
The hotel is part of a complex centered on the Superdome that was heavily damaged by the hurricane.
The Superdome was rebuilt in a recently completed $336 million overhaul, while an office tower abandoned after the storm was bought by New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson and refurbished. Also in the complex are the New Orleans Arena, home of the NBA's New Orleans Hornets, and a projected entertainment district.
Madonna 2012 world tour announcement ‘faked’

Rumours of a Madonna 2012 world tour have been ‘faked’ according to her publicist.
A Live Nation press release was recently posted on Madonna fansite, listing tour dates for a four continent tour that was allegedly starting in March next year in Auckland, New Zealand.
However, Liz Rosenberg, Madonna’s publicist has said that both the dates and press release are ‘fake’. Rosenberg however has said that in regards to Madonna appearing at the Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show in February, "there is nothing to confirm or deny at this time."
Meanwhile, Madonna has confirmed she will release her new album next spring. The singer said she has started work on the record with producer William Orbit - pictured right - and is expected to be busy in her New York studio until the end of the year.
She also confirmed that the first single for the record is due out in February or March.
The album, which is the follow-up to 2008's 'Hard Candy', will be her first in a deal to release music in partnership with concert promoter Live Nation.
ABC Cancels 'Charlie's Angels'

Production on the Miami-set revamp has been shut down, and according to the Hollywood Reporter, remaining episodes will continue to air until the network makes a decision on what will air in its place.
Despite heavy brand-awareness and Drew Barrymore's executive producing credit, the show failed to find an audience.
'Charlie's Angels' premiered to a disappointing 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic and the show has drastically fallen since. Its most recent Thursday night episode garnered a disastrous 1.3 in the 18-49 demo.
'Charlie's Angels' is the fifth show to be canceled this season. 'Free Agents,' 'The Playboy Club,' 'H8R' and 'How to Be a Gentleman' have all gotten the axe.
