The Twilight star is reportedly set to test his vocal abilities on the big screen when American Idiot, the 2010 stage musical based on Green Day’s Grammy Award-winning album of the same name, is adapted into a film.
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was recently asked who he would like to see in a starring role.
“I’m gonna say that kid in Twilight. He’s a good actor. There’s still more to come with that kid,” he said.
Based on Green Day’s groundbreaking rock opera album American Idiot, the musical is about three suburban pals who take divergent paths in post-9/11 America.
