Geraldine Estelle "Geri" Halliwell (born 6 August 1972) is an English pop singer-songwriter, author, actress and philanthropist. After coming to international prominence in the late 1990s asGinger Spice, a member of the girl group the Spice Girls, Halliwell launched her solo career in 1998 and released her album Schizophonic. Since then, she has released two more studio albums –Scream If You Wanna Go Faster and Passion – and four number one singles at the UK Singles Chart, "Mi Chico Latino", "Lift Me Up", "Bag It Up" and "It's Raining Men". In 2008, Halliwell published a book series named Ugenia Lavender. As a solo artist, Halliwell has sold 12 million records worldwide and been nominated for two Brit Awards in 2000 and 2002.

In 1999, Halliwell launched her solo career and released her debut album Schizophonic, with the lead single "Look at Me", produced by Absolute and Phil Bucknall. "Look at Me" would go on to sell over one million copies worldwide, followed by further number ones at the UK Singles Chart "Mi Chico Latino", "Lift Me Up" and "Bag It Up". Halliwell performed "Bag It Up" during the BRIT Awardsceremony in 2000, emerging between giant inflatable legs, ripping off her shirt and walking in stiletto heels over the backs of topless pink-haired men whilst performing the song.

"Look at Me" was released to radio in the United States in late 1999, receiving limited airplay. With only a radio single, Schizophonic debuted at number forty-two on the Billboard 200 before dropping out within the next month. The album was eventually certified Gold, distributing over 500,000 copies.^[3] In 1999, she wrote an autobiography If Only, in which described her life as a Spice Girl.

Voyeur Filmed Naked Women In Tanning Bed

AUGUST 5 -- A Louisiana man who claimed that he “always wondered what it would be like” to be in the room while a woman was in a tanning bed was arrested yesterday on video voyeurism charges for allegedly using a tiny camera to film naked women tanning at a local health club.

Jonathan Willink, 39, was nabbed yesterday on four misdemeanor counts for surreptitiously filming a quartet of women at Anytime Fitness in Monroe. Willink, pictured in the mug shot at right, is being held in the Ouachita County jail in lieu of $20,000 bond.

Police learned of the hidden camera filming when an employee of a computer firm contacted them after Willink brought in his laptop for repairs. The worker reported discovering “several videos of women who were naked and lying in a tanning bed.” Additionally, as reported in a probable cause affidavit, in some of the videos, “Willink’s face is even seen as he adjust the camera.”

Confronted yesterday at his home, Willink told cops that, “he had recently obtained a small contained video recorder,” which he hid on four separate occasions in a tanning bed room at Anytime Fitness, where he is a member. The resulting videos recorded the women “as they undress and enter the tanning bed. The women are then seen as they exit the tanning bed and redress.”

According to cops, “Willink stated that he placed the hidden camera there because he had always wondered what it would be like to be in the tanning room while a woman was lying in the tanning bed.”

'Desperate Housewives' Will End its Run in May !!

EW has learned that Desperate Housewives will end its eight-year run on ABC in May. The network is expected to make it official on Sunday, when it meets with the nation’s TV critics in Beverly Hills.

News of the show’s series finale doesn’t come as a huge surprise, since the four stars recently went through a protracted — and pricey — salary renegotiation to return for another season of the Sunday drama. (Earning north of $400,000 per episode, they were already among the highest-paid actresses in prime time). Still, the drama’s core cast — which includes Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria — were reportedly shocked by the decision, as creator Marc Cherry had indicated that he wanted the show to extend through a ninth year.

Housewives — which has earned multiple awards since its 2004 premiere, including Emmys for Huffman and Kathryn Joosten– certainly isn’t the most-talked about series on TV right now but it remains a stable player on ABC’s lineup. Though not as competitive as it used to be, the series averaged 11.9 million viewers last season (down from 14.1 million the previous year) and a 3.9 rating among adults 18-49 (down from a 4.9). It’s been averaging a drop of a full ratings point each season over the last three years

History Channel Casting For 'Swamp People'

LAFAYETTE, La. -- The producers of History Channel's hit show "Swamp People" are looking for new cast members for season three.

Brothers Gary and Troy Lacoq were among the dozens at Prejeans in Lafayette on Tuesday hoping to get their chance in the spotlight. Both say they've been hunting alligators with their dad since the mid-1980s. If cast, they said that they'll bring plenty of drama to the show.

Casting director Jason Skweres says they're looking for all types of characters - not just gator hunters.

Another would-be contestant, 25-year-old Jude Mequet, says that's good because he grew up in a house boat in the Atchafalaya Basin. He says his family literally lived off the swamp.

The show's second Louisiana casting is set for Friday in Houma
