Some rising stars move to Hollywood with nothing in their pockets but a few bucks and a dream to make it big. When it comes to rising star Armie Hammer, that’s only part of the story. The 25-year-old Social Netowrkstud actually had something in common with the Winklevoss twins he portrayed in the Oscar nominated film. Like them, he comes from an established family as well, but forged his own path and found himself climbing through the ranks of Hollywood, turning heads along the way.
Detail Magazine sat down with Armie and in the October issue, dishes on shaving his chest for a new project, life from the Cayman Islands to LA, and how he didn’t turn out like an a**hole.
On not shaving his chest as “Prince Charming” in Snow White:
“Julia [Roberts] had a line about how smooth my chest is. And it’s not. So the producers were like, ‘Okay, just shave him.’ And I was like, ‘WHOA. I spent 25 years earning this chest hair. I’m wearing purple tights and a codpiece, so, please, let me keep my manhood.”
