Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin to Star in Netflix Sitcom 'Grace and Frankie'

It's 9 to 5 all over again for Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda they will be clocking in together once again!

The actresses, who co-starred in the classic 1980 workplace comedy "9 to 5," will team up again in "Grace and Frankie," a new single-camera sitcom for Netflix. The series also boasts a creative team that includes Howard J. Morris, writer and producer of 'Sullivan & Son," and Marta Kauffman, co-creator of a little show known as "Friends" as well as "Dream On," an early original series on HBO.

Through 13 half-hour episodes, "Grace and Frankie" will explore the relationship between two women in their twilight years, Grace (Fonda) and Frankie (Tomlin). Long-time rivals, they are unexpectedly brought together when their husbands declare their love for each other and announce plans to get married. According to Netflix, "The women find their lives both turned upside down and to their dismay, permanently intertwined. Eventually, to their surprise, they find they have each other."

"Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are among the funniest and most formidable actresses ever and it’s an incredible privilege to give them the opportunity to run riot on Netflix," said Ted Sarandos, Netflix chief content officer. “The show created for them by Marta and Howard is warm, very funny and anything but wholesome. We can’t wait.”

Neither actress is a stranger to the small screen: Fonda recently appeared in the HBO drama "The Newsroom" while Tomlin currently stars in Showtime's "Web Therapy."

The comedy is scheduled to premiere on the online streaming service in 2015.
