Ellen DeGeneres, Anderson Cooper, Ryan Murphy top 'Out' magazine's 'Power 50'

Out‘s list is out! The magazine just released its sixth annual power list of media mavens from entertainers to politicians that they deem the most powerful, and it is heavy with pop culture stars.

Making the list are talk-show titans Ellen Degeneres (#2) and Andy Cohen (#10), producing behemoth’s Ryan Murphy (#4), Scott Rudin (#13), and Alan Ball (#37), and clocking in at #40, Entertainment Weekly‘s own Managing Editor Jess Cagle. Sitting at the top of the list is Apple CEO Tim Cook, who memorably took over for the late Steve Jobs last year.

Interestingly, Neil Patrick Harris (#11) and Jane Lynch (#47) are the only actors to make an appearance. Also notable is Anderson Cooper’s position at #6 and Matt Drudge at #16, a curious move considering neither actor has publicly announced their sexuality.

Jazz Fest Starts Today In New Orleans With The Beach Boys!

NEW ORLEANS — Music fans poured through the gates at Friday’s start of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, staking out spots to catch performances by The Beach Boys, Steel Pulse and Irma Thomas, who is performing a tribute to gospel great Mahalia Jackson.

At the Fais-Do-Do stage, the air filled with sounds of Cajun fiddles and spoons scraping across washboards as Goldman Thibodeaux & the Lawtell Playboys entertained the early-birds. His traditional Creole songs, some performed in French, kept Leona Gard of Metairie, La., dancing with a wide smile.

“They’re a nice warm-up, before the faster music comes,” said Gard, 65, as she danced a slow-zydeco step to Thibodeaux’s engaging tunes.

Gard, who’s been a fest-junkie since 1976, said Thibodeaux and the Playboys are one of the few groups that still offer an old-school sound not often heard.

“They set the pace for others like Geno Delafose,” she said. “Come back and see the crowd when he plays. Everyone will be on their feet dancing.”

The festival known simply as Jazz Fest spans two weekends, Friday through Sunday and May 3-6. This year’s lineup includes mostly Louisiana acts accented with national headliners such as Bon Iver, the Beach Boys, the Eagles, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Cee Lo Green, Ne-Yo, Bruce Springsteen and Jimmy Buffett.

RJ & Jay Paul From 'Swamp People' Catch Cannibal Gator Terrorizing Locals

On ‘Swamp People’ -- RJ and Jay Paul are after a crazy gator that’s terrorizing the swamp. Locals say the monster has been killing deer -- cutting through them "like a chainsaw." With other gators, he’s been cannibalistically biting their heads off. They’re calling the gator ‘Pas Tout La’, which RJ explains means ‘not all there.’ He turns out to be a massive beast.

The guys have performed on both American Idol and The Voice. On Idol, Max George jumped off the stage to give a little hug and a kiss to judge Jennifer Lopez. When asked why he didn’t do that to Christina Aguilera on The Voice, Max replied, “She’s was bit scary, to be honest.”

Tom Parker jumped in to add, “She’s a total bitch.” When pressed, he added, “She might not be a bitch in real life but to us she was a bitch. She just sat there and didn’t speak to us. Wouldn’t even look at us.”

Chris Pine: 'Fifty Shades of Grey would be a hell of a choice'

Chris Pine has said that he would be open to playing Christian Grey in the erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey.

The Star Trek actor described the project based on the EL James book as "interesting" and insisted that he wouldn't say no to playing the titular protagonist.

"I do know about Fifty Shades of Grey because Alice Eve, who's in [the Star Trek sequel], has been reading it like crazy, so yeah, I've heard about it," Pine told Access Hollywood.

"It'd be a hell of a choice for me, I think. It sounds like an interesting film."

In the same interview, Pine described the tone of the Star Trek follow-up as "relentless", saying that the film is as action-packed as the original.

Felicity Huffman: "I Cried" at Final Desperate Housewives Table Read

It's the beginning of the end, Desperate Housewives fans.

On Thursday, the cast of ABC's hit series came together to read through season eight's last episode, which will also serve as the series finale, airing on May 13.

"What a ride the last eight years has been," Felicity Huffman, who plays Lynette, reflected on her WhatTheFlicka.com blog Thursday after she joined Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher and other DH cast members for the final table read, where she "cried all over" the writers in the writer's room.

Prior to attending Thursday's session, a pajama-clad, makeup-free Huffman, 49, posed for a Twitter photo to mark the occasion. "Off to my last day on @DesperateABC. Hubbie wrote a sign, just like we do with our kids on last days of school," Huffman tweeted, along with a sign that read 'Last day of Desperate Housewives, 4-26-12.'

Moving away from the show's fictional Wisteria Lane is "like leaving your hometown for college. It's been eight years, but it's been a really dense eight years, and I think series and actors live in dog years, so every one year is actually seven! We've actually been doing this series for 56 years," Huffman recently joked to Us Weekly. "Which also makes it a little easier to swallow because it's like, 'Oh, 56 years?! It's time to go!'"
