'Swamp People': R.J. Almost Gets His Face Bitten Off By A Gator
Alligator hunting is easily one of the most dangerous vocations in the world. One month a year in Louisiana, the "Swamp People" (Thu., 9 p.m. EST on History) get out on the waters and in the swamps to hunt some of the world's most dangerous prey. It's essential that a hunter be on his game, vigilant and paying attention at all times.
Watch Video Here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/10/swamp-people-rj-almost-face-bit-gator-video_n_1267503.html?ref=tv-replay&icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl7%7Csec3_lnk3%26pLid%3D134610
The cameras caught a close call on this week's installment. An alligator's jaw comes with over 2,000 pounds of force, and they can snap closed in an instant. So when R.J. was knocked off balance while they were trying to bring one in, tottering forward until his face actually fell below the water's surface, he was seconds from being face-to-face with that gaping jaw.
Luckily, one of his partners was ready and took the shot that stopped the gator before R.J. lost his life, or at least his head.
"You slip up like that on the water, something bad's gonna happen to you," he said later. "I gotta say that's the closest I ever came to getting bit by an alligator." And yet, he quickly shook it off and got back to the business of hunting gators.
The hunt continues on "Swamp People" on Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on History

Adam Levine Launches 222 Records, Signs 'Glee's' Matthew Morrison
Adam Levine, Maroon 5 frontman and a coach on "The Voice," is launching his own record label, called 222.
The first artist signed to the label is Matthew Morrison, best known as the character Will Schuester from "Glee," whose sophomore album will be released on the label in the Spring. In addition to his role on "Glee," Schuester will be starring alongside Cameron Diaz in the upcoming film "What To Expect When Expecting," out this May, and has been nominated for Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe awards.
"Starting my own label has been a long-time goal of mine, and I am thrilled to be at the point in my career where it is finally happening," said Levine, who kicked off his second season on "The Voice" Sunday night after the Super Bowl. "Great things are in store for [Matthew] with this release."
Morrision added, "Adam and I share the same vision as we begin working on my record together."
This past year, Levine became the first artist to have a No. 1 song as part of a group (Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger") and also enter the top 10 as a soloist (as featured on Gym Class Heroes' "Stereo Hearts") in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Glee's Lea Michele in Talks for Spring Awakening Movie!
"We're talking to Lea Michele because she made the role of Wendla famous and we'll see if that pans out and works with the timing of her schedule on [Glee]," the flick's director, McG, told us last night at the Hollywood premiere of his new romance action flick This Means War.
The show, which won eight Tony Awards and is based on an 1891 German play of the same name, centers around a group of teenagers dealing with topics including abortion, rape, suicide, masturbation and even some S&M. (Glee, anyone?)
"I love Lea; we've talked about it," McG said. "When I first got turned onto the show she was in it so it's her voice that echoes in my heart. I really think she's wonderful and we'll see where it takes us."
McG said Spring may be his next film project. "It's very similar to the [stage] production," he said. "We're probably going to shoot it in Eastern Europe and it's a very true adaptation of what it is with a little Baz Luhrman thrown in."
Now we want to hear from you. Do you want to see Ms. Michele in the Spring Awakening flick? Sound off below!

Mardi Gras Royalty: Mystic Krewe of Barkus at Galtoire's
The march of Mardi Gras royalty continued as The Mystic Krewe of Barkus toasted its king and queen at Galatoire's Restaurant in New Orleans on Friday. The queen, a bit overweight, was not happy being asked to park herself in a small chair, and she totally disdained requests to pose for pictures.
The king was more tolerant of the Carnival festivities leading up to weekend parades, but really — there were a lot of speeches and champagne toasts before lunch was served at the famous French Quarter restaurant where Friday lunches are a pre-Mardi Gras tradition for parade royalty.
The salute to King Wally, a mixture of poodle and retriever, and Queen Maggie, a rescued golden lab, who rule over Barkus, an all-dog parade Sunday, kicked off the first big weekend of parades with 26 krewes rolling in the metropolitan area between Friday night and Sunday night.

Whitney Houston Takes Center Stage at Pre-Grammy Party
With this coming Sunday's awards night igniting Grammy fever throughout L.A.,Whitney Houston was among the revelers having a grand old time at Thursday's "Kelly Price & Friends Unplugged: For The Love Of R&B Grammy Party" at Tru Hollywood.
The singer, herself a six-time Grammy winner, made her entrance two hours after the party got going, emerging from a Cadillac Escalade in a snug black cocktail gown with a plunging neckline.
Among her large party was her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, 19, and the two clutched hands on the red carpet before hastily heading inside the venue.
Inside, sitting within the VIP area with Bobbi Kristina and a large group, Houston, 48, seemed to be in great spirits. Shortly after 11 p.m., she had her hands in the air and was dancing to the R&B group Bell Biv Devoe's
Madonna Slams M.I.A.'s Super Bowl Middle Finger
When something happens at the Super Bowl halftime show, it never seems to go away (paging Janet Jackson).
Madonna has taken to the airwaves to express her disappointment with M.I.A.'s decision to flip the bird at cameras during the halftime show, calling the move a "teenager ... irrelevant thing to do." Madge was chatting with Ryan Seacrest about her performance when he brought up the incident.
To the pop star, the middle finger was simply "out of place" at a show characterized by "such a feeling of love and good energy and positivity."
The halftime show also featured Cee Lo Green, LMFAO and Nicki Minaj in a ensemble performance of some of the pop queen's biggest hits and a new single, "Give Me All Your Luvin.'"
Madonna recently made headlines by announcing a world tour in support of her upcoming album,MDNA.
TMZ also reports Madge also called into Carson Daly's show and said M.I.A. has apologized to her.
The halftime show was viewed by well over 100 million people. Reactions to the incident varied from bemused to enraged, and NBC and the NFL both condemned M.I.A. (and blamed each other for the fact that censors didn't block her middle finger).
